Hayburn Wyke, UK

After a tip-off from a friend, we decided to see if we could find Hayburn Wyke, it’s only about 30 minutes from where we’re staying in Bridlington and it has a lovely waterfall… there must be a photo opportunity there somewhere?

After a few hairy moments driving down roads that were getting narrower and narrower, then navigating around a hairpin turn in a 7.5 meter long Doris, we managed to find a car park that we were never going to get in to, due to the hump in the road. After checking with the pub next to it, they were kind enough to let us stay in there car park after buying a parking ticket.

So, we’re finally all sorted and ready to have a wander to see if we can find the waterfall. So we headed off down the path.

A few yards down the path, we realised we had company…

Meet our new best friend…Holly!

After trying to send her back towards the pub maaaany times, without success, we decided to return to the pub to find and the owner, so we didn’t wander off with her in tow.

The barmaid told us she was her dog and that she was called Holly and that she quite often follows people down to the waterfall and she might not come back with us, but that’s fine and not worry!

Oh well, off we went again with Jánine’s new best friend leading the way…with the the odd game of fetch thrown in every few feet.

As you can see above, we managed to find the waterfall and got a photo or two to share with you. It was a lovely little spot about 20 steps from the beech.

All in all, a lovely day out with some great views and photographs… and we did manage to return our guide…errr I mean the barmaids dog.

Our New Favourite Place…

…Bridlington!

After getting the itch to start travelling again, we decided to take a bit of time off work and go on a little road trip up the UK’s East coast. 😁

We had a site booked for a couple of nights in Whitby, other than that, we decided to just play it by ear and see what happens. 😉

Jánine REALLY liked Bridlington!… If you didn’t know already, a stone with a naturally occurring hole through it, is called either a witch stone, a hag stone, or a fae stone. The idea is that if you relax your eyes and look through one of these, you may just be able to see fairies!

If you don’t manage to see fairies, you can simply use these stones for protection.

As you can see above… We managed to find quite a few of these!
